Question:
What are your first loves?
Answer:
Before honing my passion for design, my earliest memories involve music and dance. To this day, observation, movement, stillness and coordination all play a role for me in creating a moment, a space or an image.
Question:
What are some projects you are most proud of?
Answer:
The Ritz-Carlton Berlin was the largest construction project at the time in Europe and Chambers Hotel was a breakthrough hotel project for Rockwell being their first new construction ground up Hotel. However, COMIX was a heart centered project because I wanted to make a difference in lower Manhattan after 9/11 and I believe we brought laughter and love to the gentrifying Meatpacking District. It involved a landmarked building, many community meetings and a star studded opening night.
Question:
What are your dream projects?
Answer:
They all involve public space. Transforming our concept of spaces that involve health and aging. Creating community centers and interactive art in municipal places.
Question:
What is a fun fact that one would be surprised to learn about you?
Answer:
I was on toe shoes at the age of 2 because it was a way to correct the turn out of my feet and besides, according to my mother, I came into the world dancing with a hand bag.
